Cat Battles has 8 pieces of sumo gear, all cosmetic and all bought with coins in the Gear tab of your lobby inventory (prices as read on 23 October 2026). The whole set costs 24,750 coins, and the top piece — Yokozuna Rope at 12,000 coins — costs exactly the same as the Hairball ability, so that is the first decision to make.

The Full Set Costs 24,750 Coins
Buying all eight costs 24,750 coins — roughly twice the price of the priciest item on this page — so the set is a long-term goal rather than a first-week one, and every coin in it competes with the abilities and effects on the same price ladder.
The number worth planning around is 12,000: the Yokozuna Rope costs exactly the same 12,000 coins as the Hairball ability on the abilities list. Both are the top of their own price band, so if you are choosing one purchase with 12,000 coins in hand, you are choosing between the grand champion's rope and the ability that turns the floor into a slip zone. Gear changes how your cat looks; Hairball changes how a bout plays.
How to Buy and Equip Gear
Open the inventory
Open the lobby Inventory from the bag icon.
Open the Gear tab
Switch to the Gear tab, next to Furs, Abilities and Effects.
Pick the piece
Choose the piece you want.
Pay
Press the coins button to confirm the price.
Equip it
Equip it from the same Gear menu and it shows on your cat in every bout.
Gear Is Cosmetic
Every piece on this list is a costume for your cat: no stat bonus, no cooldown, no special move. The catalogue prices all eight in coins — the same balance you earn in a bout — and gear has no Robux version, so coins are the only route to these pieces. An effect can be equipped at the same time as gear, so the two tracks do not block each other: the effects list covers that one.
Gear From Crates
Sumo gear is one of the three things a crate can drop, next to a fur and an emote, so crates are the slow, random way to fill out the gear tab — the coin prices above are the certain one. If you are still working out what a crate is worth to you, start there before you save 12,000 coins for the rope.
